About Kari Leeper, CPA

Kari Leeper

I began my career as a Wildlife Biologist in Missouri. My father was in the military, and I am so proud to be the daughter of a veteran. After he retired, we settled in the Midwest and I got my bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology. I worked for several years in that field doing research across the country for several organizations, including the Nature Conservancy.

When I settled in western Massachusetts, I knew I was home. I began a small business preparing insurance billing for several small healthcare practitioners. It was then I realized that the part of the work I enjoyed the most was the accounting, so I went back to school to get my master’s degree in accounting.

Education: Master’s Degree in Accounting from Western New England University

After I graduated, I worked for several small local companies in the wholesale and non-profit sectors. I then transitioned to working in Public Accounting, got my Certified Public Accountant license, and spent six years working for a local CPA right here in Greenfield. I gained experience in so many areas of accounting in that short span — local businesses, non-profit organizations, individuals, auditing. Coming to work was always a thrill because I was always learning.

The time came for the local CPA I was working for to retire, and I was excited that he offered me the opportunity to continue servicing his clientele. I opened my practice in October, 2024, and am excited to invite new clients to speak to me about their accounting needs.
