IRS is mandating electronic payments

The IRS is now mandating electronic payments for both receipts and refunds.

The IRS and the current administration have recently mandated all taxpayer refunds and payments will need to be made electronically.

If you have not yet opted to receive refunds via direct deposit, you will need to do so for the upcoming tax year.

If you owe taxes, either at year end or with estimated payments made throughout the year, you will need to find the method of electronic payment which works best for you. There are several options and we can assist you with deciding which is best for you.

How to prepare:

  • Use IRS Direct Pay to pay directly from your bank account without fees.
  • Set up Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) for individual or business tax payments.
  • Use the IRS2GoApp mobile app for easy and secure mobile payments.
  • Explore debit/credit card payment options or use digital wallets where supported.

To continue receiving IRS notices and correspondence related to your payments, ensure your contact information and payment preferences are up to date.
